Seven nights, 600 mg, taken mid-sleep and on its own, with no journaling and no behavioral techniques. Lucidity never moved across the whole run, and hypnagogic imagery stayed flat. On the two effects this compound is usually bought for, nothing registered.
Recall and vividness were marginally more interesting, sitting around three and a half out of five with occasional spikes to four. The strong nights did not build over the week, though. One landed early, another near the end, with flat nights in between, which reads as noise rather than accumulation. Two of the nights were confounded anyway, one by a disruptive outside event and one by alcohol.
Alpha-GPC is a choline donor, the raw material the brain uses to make acetylcholine, the neurotransmitter most tied to REM. The biochemical premise is plausible, but on its own it did not translate into anything I could detect. That lines up with the one controlled study on Alpha-GPC alone, which found no effect on lucidity or dream content even at double this dose.
The reading is not that choline does nothing. It is that if it matters for dreams, it is probably as a building block for something else and not as a trigger by itself. A null result, and a useful one for narrowing where to look next.
