The newest entry isolates Acacia xanthophloea, the African fever tree, from the ubulawu blends it normally appears in, and tests it on its own.
The result is the verdict this thread keeps reaching. Pulled out of the froth-prepared mixture it belongs to, the single plant carries little of the blend’s reputation: recall near baseline, no lucidity, no clear vividness signal. It is widely sold as a dream herb; its mechanism is basically unknown.
That’s the whole point of testing components individually. A blend that “works” tells you nothing about which ingredient matters. Isolating the variable is slower and less satisfying, and it’s the only way to learn anything you can trust.
